Hi hunnies. It’s been a while, but I’m back baby.

We’re gonna talk about face masks today. Not necessarily a product review, but a hack that I do to really boost the efficiency of my masks. Now before you get a mask, make sure you get a mask for your skincare concerns. Not all masks are the same. Some you can use every day, some you can only use once a week. Some masks come in different types. Sheet masks, overnight masks, splash masks, in-the-shower masks, blah blah blah… I know, your head must hurt huh? Fear no more, hunnie.

Well, darlings, for the purpose of simplicity, we gon’ keep it simple with the traditional creamy masks that we leave on our faces for 20-30 minutes (or however long you have time for).

*DISCLAIMER: any masks that have AHA/BHA acids in them you should follow the instructions accordingly. I DO NOT want burned off faces, luvs. Be safe, be smart and be glowing for a living.

So what is this miracle ingredient? For starters, it’s all natural and is easy to find. BUT WHAT IS IT, EVIE?!!! Shhhhhhh… Relax, beloved. Relax. I got you.

Honey, hunnies. HONEY.

Now this is nothing new! I mentioned in a past post how I use this ingredient on a regular basis as face wash in the morning. It has sooooo many benefits. Let’s get into the list:

BUH BYE, BREAKOUTS: Due to honey’s natural antibacterial properties, it’s amazing for acne treatment and prevention. So bomb, right?

ANTI-AGING ABILITIES: We love us some antioxidants around here. Honey is chuck full of antioxidants, so guess what? Ain’t no wrinkles, bih. Premature aging is not a problem for you, boo.

CLEAR COMPLEXION: It is insanely moisturizing and soothing to the skin, which not only leaves a “lit from within” glow, but it also helps heal acne scars. Care to join me in fading dark marks? I thought you’d say yes. Welcome to the club.

Now this is only a small list of the glorious wonders of honey. Mind you, these are the topical benefits. Eating honey also has a whole host of benefits as well. I always eat a spoonful of honey for a sore throat or when I have seasonal allergies. My skin thanks me for it!

So here is the tip of the hour regarding honey: Add a tbsp of honey to your face masks and leave it on your face as directed by the product.

I use DIY masks a lot, but you can add this to a pre-made mask as well. Speaking of DIY masks, lemme give you a quick recipe!

What you'll Need:

1 tbsp Honey (I recommend raw or manuka honey)

Fresh lemon juice (I use the juice of 1/2 lemon)

Pinch of Turmeric powder

I mix all of these ingredients together in a small bowl with a spoon and put it on my face and neck for 30 minutes (I use the spoon to apply the mask so it spreads evenly and is less messy). Then I wash it off! I use this 3-4 times a week if I really want to even out my complexion from a recent breakout. You’ll love the results. The level of glow will be so real. You’ve been warned.

Give honey a try in your face mask this week. Let me know in the comments what you think about the results you get and/or if you tried my 3 ingredient face mask! I’d love to hear some of your feedback, luvs.

Glowingly Yours,

Evie 🍯
